Structural Nuts
Structural Nuts and heavy hex nuts are six-sided hex nuts that are thicker and wider across the flats than a same size diameter finished hex nut. ASTM A563C and DH and ASTM A194 2-H structural nuts are high strength nuts that are designed to be stronger than the bolts assembled with them.
Structural Heavy Hex Finish Nuts, also known as Heavy Hex Nuts, Heavy hex finish nuts, and structural heavy hex nuts, are used for many fastening applications. Heavy hex finish nuts are often used with bolts when a heavier, stronger and thicker nut is needed, often for strength or a thicker finished look. Structural nuts such as these can help increase the load capacity of the bolt fastened to it.
